Your Journey
-
Creating a bespoke piece should feel exciting, not overwhelming.
You'll work directly with me throughout the entire process, from our first conversation to the moment your jewellery is complete. I'll take the time to understand what's important to you, answer every question honestly and guide you through each decision without pressure.
My aim is for you to feel informed, confident and excited at every stage, knowing we'll only move forward when the design feels right.
-
Getting started is simple. You can give me a call, email or book a consultation and we'll discuss your ideas, budget, timeline and any inspiration you have.
If you've saved photos, videos or hints from your partner, feel free to share them with me, but don't worry if you haven't. Our first conversation is simply about getting to know what you're looking for and exploring the possibilities together.
-
That’s completely normal. Some clients arrive with inspiration photos, while others have no idea where to begin. If you're unsure, we can start with a quick chat to discuss your partner’s style, your ideas and what you're hoping to create.
My role is to ask the right questions, guide you through the options and help you discover a design that feels personal, meaningful and completely right for you.
-
Most bespoke jewellery commissions are completed within 2–3 weeks. More intricate designs or pieces requiring specially sourced or custom-cut gemstones may take up to 8 weeks. If you're working towards a proposal, wedding or another special occasion, let me know your timeframe from the start.
Throughout my career, I've always worked hard to meet my clients' deadlines and have very rarely had to decline a commission due to timing. I'll always be honest about what's achievable and, whenever possible, do my best to accommodate your schedule.
-
Absolutely. Many of my clients work with me remotely. We can communicate in whatever way suits you best, whether that's video consultations, phone calls or email.
Throughout the process, I'll keep you updated with designs, CAD’s and prototypes. If you'd like to view your diamond before it's set, I can also arrange for it to be securely shipped to you for approval before it's returned to the workshop for setting. Please note this is only applicable to specific stones.
-
Yes. Bespoke jewellery can be created across a wide range of budgets. If you have a budget in mind, I'll help you make the most of it by recommending the best combination of design, materials and gemstones. If you're not sure where to start, we can begin with your preferences and priorities, and I'll guide you through the options to create a piece that's right for you.
Design & Jewellery
-
From bespoke engagement rings and wedding bands to earrings, necklaces, heirloom redesigns and one-of-a-kind commissions, almost anything is possible. Every piece is designed around your vision, but I'll always advise honestly if a particular design could affect its durability or longevity.
My priority is creating jewellery that's not only beautiful, but made to be loved and worn for generations. -
Choosing the right diamond is about much more than the 4Cs. I'll take the time to understand your priorities, explain your options clearly and personally source diamonds that suit your style, preferences and budget. Whether you're looking for the finest quality or the best value within your investment, I'll help you find the perfect stone with confidence.
-
There isn't a right or wrong choice. Both natural and lab-grown diamonds have their place, and the best option depends on what's most important to you. Lab-grown diamonds have made rare colours, unique shapes and bigger sizes far more accessible, while natural diamonds remain a wonderful choice for those who are after a classic shape and size and also value their rarity and origin. I'll explain the differences openly and help you choose the diamond that best suits your priorities, preferences and budget.
-
Yes. I love giving sentimental jewellery a new life. Depending on the piece and what you're hoping to achieve, we can carefully restore it, recreate the original design with improved durability, or transform it into something completely new. Every project is assessed individually, and I'll always recommend the approach that best protects your gemstones while honouring the story behind them.
-
Finding the right gemstone is one of my favourite parts of the process. Thanks to my trusted network of suppliers, I can source an exceptional range of gemstones to suit your design and budget. Once I've shortlisted the best options, I'll arrange for you to view them side by side, allowing you to compare them in person and choose the one that feels right for you.
-
Every piece I create is bespoke, so there isn't an additional charge simply because it's custom made. The final price depends on the design, the gemstone, the metal and the craftsmanship involved. Once we've discussed your ideas and priorities, I'll provide a clear quotation with no obligation, so you know exactly what to expect before moving forward.
Aftercare & Peace of mind
-
Yes, a complimentary ring resize is included within the first year of collection, where the design allows. I also offer resizing for jewellery that wasn't originally created by Meler Bech, subject to an assessment of the piece.
If a design cannot be safely resized, such as certain eternity bands, I'll explain this before your jewellery is made so you can make a fully informed decision.
-
Every piece is crafted to last and is covered against genuine manufacturing faults. If a fault does occur, I'll repair it free of charge.
Jewellery worn every day naturally experiences wear over time, and if repairs are needed due to accidental damage or normal wear, I'll always assess the piece and carry out the work at a fair cost. My aim is to ensure your jewellery can be enjoyed for many years to come
-
Yes. I provide complimentary insurance valuations with qualifying Meler Bech commissions, and I can also prepare insurance valuations for jewellery created elsewhere for a fee. If you're unsure how to insure your jewellery, I'll be happy to recommend suitable options and answer any questions you may have.
-
Every piece of jewellery is different, so I'll always provide care advice tailored to your design and gemstones. As a general rule, regular cleaning and occasional professional inspections will help keep your jewellery looking its best for years to come. If your engagement ring was created by Meler Bech, you're also welcome to bring it back for inspection anytime and for a complimentary clean and polish before your wedding day.
-
Of course. Also, even if your engagement ring wasn't created by Meler Bech, I can also design a perfectly fitted wedding band by 3D scanning your existing ring. You'll receive a prototype first, allowing you to check the fit and design before your final piece is made.
